Emily is a writer of parenting non fiction, inspirational coloring books and journals for adults, and fiction of various kinds from short stories to children’s and adults’ novels. She has even attempted a poem or two.
When her non-fiction hat is on, helping parents to make great parenting decisions based on clear evidence, and inspiring people to aim higher and achieve more than they believed they could, are her passions.
When she is able to indulge her imagination and write fiction, anything from the real world that can be twisted or re-imagined into something fantastic is what inspires her. She writes for markets in Australia and worldwide.
Take a look at a video interview about Emily’s journey, from the great web documentary series, Into the Middle of Things:
Emily in Hagley, Tasmania“I hated the fact that I couldn’t take control… It really messed with my head because it just wasn’t me. It wasn’t my vision of me.”A single mum by choice of a sperm donor, Emily struggled with postnatal depression after the birth of one of her children, leaving her incapacitated and with intense feelings of guilt and frustration at herself. With the support of her family, she came out the other side of her depression with a passion for connecting with other parents all over the world.#mentalhealthweek
