Emily delivered a one hour seminar to leaders and teaching staff at Scotch Oakburn College, Launceston Tasmania. She then delivered a series of private workshops to various senior staff.
I found your session really engaging, non-threatening and I learned a lot. You made me think about some points that I had not have considered before. I found the sound files useful although I hated listening to them! – Kate Croft, Vice Principal, Scotch Oakburn College.
Emily spoke at a meeting of Library Technicians in Launceston, Tasmania on 22nd March 2016. She presented an information seminar on Vaccinations (you can get a sneak peak of part of her presentation by looking at the SlideShares here).
“At a time when vaccinations are a hot topic, our library group was privileged to hear a well-researched discussion of the myths and facts, presented in a measured delivery, accompanied by Power Point, by Emily Morgan. She was able to answer questions–some of which I’m sure many of us already had in our minds, in addition to some we might not have previously considered–by simply presenting the data in a clear and intelligible way. We look forward to another opportunity to hear her speak.” – Martha McQueen, library technician.
In 2015, Emily delivered a two hour workshop to a Prep/One class at Hagley Farm Primary School. The subject was “Kodomo no Hi” (Children’s Day), a national Japanese holiday. We discussed language, writing, counting and traditional dress. We played number games, learned how to address the teacher and parents, Japanese style, sang a nursery rhyme, did some simple origami and played a Japanese children’s game. Emily will be reprising this workshop in 2016.
“Interesting, age-appropriate activities and a friendly and engaging manner. The children were motivated by the activities on offer and continued to play the games and practise the words after Emily had left.” – Nancy Morgan, teacher.
